Row 1: sc in each st, turn
Row 2: ch3, *sk one st, dc in next st, dc in previous st (the one that was skipped, to form an X). Repeat from * until the end of row
Row 3: dc in each st until the end of the row, turn.
Row 4: sc in first 20 sts, ch 20, sk next 20 st, sc in each st until the end of row, turn.
Row 5: same as Row 2.
Row 6: same as row 3.
Row 7: same as row 2.
Row 8, same as row 3.
Row 9: sc in first 80 sts, ch 20, sk next 20 st, sc in each st until the end of row, turn.
Row 10: same as row 2.
Row 11: same as row 3.
Row 12: same as row 1.
Crochet a row of sc around the scarf.
Crochet a rose as follows:
Row 1: dc in fourth stitch from hook. * ch 1, sk next 2 sts, (dc- ch2 - dc) in next st. Repeat from * until the end. Turn.
Row 2: ch 3, (dc-ch2, 2dc) in first ch 2 sp from previous row. *[ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc] in next ch 2 sp. Repeat from * until the end. Turn.
Row 3: *6 dc in first ch2 sp from previous row, sc in next ch2 sp. Repeat from * until the end. Fasten off.
Roll the strip to form the rose, stitch the base. Attach the rose to the scarf as shown in the picture.
