Base: Multiple 16 + 7 (number of chains)

Row 1: 3 ch in 7 ch from hook: (2 dc, 2 ch, 2 dc) in same stitch, * 4 ch, skip 7 ch, (dc , 2 ch, 1 dc) in same stitch, 4 ch, skip 7 ch, (2 dc, 2 ch, 2 dc) in same stitch.  Repeat from * until end of row ending with 1 dc in last ch of previous row.

Row 2: 3 ch, * In the middle of next group (2 dc, 2 ch, 2 dc), 2 ch, in the middle of next group of dc-2ch-dc crochet 5 dc (all in same stitch), 2 ch. Repeat from * in the middle of last group: (2 dc, 2 ch, 2 dc), 1 dc dc in third ch of the first 3 ch crocheted at start of previous row.

Row 3: 3 ch, ** In the middle of next group (2 dc, 2 ch, 2 dc), 1 ch, in first dc of next group: ** (1 dc, 1 picot, 1 dc) crocheted in same stitch**, in next dc repeat from ** to **,  dc in dc of the middle of group,in next dc of group repeat from ** to **, in last dc of group repeat from ** to **.  Repeat from ** until end of row: in the middle of last group: (2 dc, 2 ch, 2 dc), 1 dc in third ch of the first 3 ch crocheted at start of previous row.

picot: Ch 3, sl st in 3rd ch from hook

Row 4: 3 ch, ** In the middle of next group (2 dc, 2 ch, 2 dc), 3 ch, in the dc of the middle of next group: (1 dc, 2 ch, 1 dc) in same stitch, 3 ch.  Repeat from ** until end of row: in the middle of last group: (2 dc, 2 ch, 2 dc), 1 dc in third ch of the first 3 ch crocheted at start of previous row.

Repeat from row 2.
