BIKINI AND SARONG PATTERN
NOTE: THIS PATTERN IS ONLY FOR PERSONAL USE ONLY, CANT BE SOLD AND YOU CAN´T DUPLICATE, DISTRIBUTE OR RESELL ANY MATERIALS CONTAINED IN THIS FILE (PHOTOS, DIAGRAMS, TEXT). 

MATERIALS:   250 gr (8 oz) mercerized cotton yarn  

Crochet hook number 4
 
 
 
Gauge:

9 stitches (hdc)=1 inch / 5 rows=1 inch

Instructions for small, medium and large size

BIKINI TOP (small size, see instructions for other sizes at the end of this section)

 

Cup (Make 2): ch 25
Row 1:  Hdc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch  across to within last ch, 4 hdc in last ch, ch,  4 hdc (crocheted together in the same stitch for rounded end);  working along opposite side of starting chain, *hdc in next ch .  Repeat from * until end of row.
Row2:  Ch3 (in place of first hdc), hdc in each hdc to within the shell at rounded end;  (2dc,ch,2dc) crocheted together at center of shell (rounded end)  *hdc in next hdc .  Repeat from * until end of row.

 
Row 3- 18: same as row 2. 

 

Make and edge of shells around the cups as follows:  ch, sc, * [sk 2 ch, 5 dc in next ch, sk 2 ch].  Repeat from * all around the cup (except bottom)

 

At bottom of cup (section of point A), make and edge of dc (this will be the base of cup).

 

* Crochet two straps as follows:
Make 170 chains. Slip stitch in 2nd chain from hook. Slip stitch in each chain across. 

Join the straps to the center of cups at upper edge.

* Crochet one strap as follows:
Make 450 chains. Slip stitch in 2nd chain from hook. Slip stitch in each chain across. 

Weave this strap across the dc of the base of the two cups. Tie this around the chest and the strings of the top of the cups behind the neck.

For medium size start the cup with 29 ch, work the first 2 rows the same way as indicated for small size, contitnue working until you complete 22 rows (instead of the 18 rows indicated for small size)
 
For large size start the cup 32 ch, work the first 2 rows the same way as indicated for small size, contitnue working until you complete 25 rows (instead of the 18 rows indicated for small size)

BIKINI BOTTOM (small size, see instructions for medium and large size at the end of this section)
Back:

Chain 110 
Row 1: work straight in sc, making ch in the place of the first sc
Row 2: work straight in hdc, making ch 3 in the place of the first hdc
Then begin decreasing at each side: 
Row 2-45: (in this row decrease one hdc at each side ) at the beginning of this row Ch3, * 2 hdc together (to decrease one hdc). work row in hdc, within last 2 stitches, at the end of row: * 2 hdc together (to decrease one hdc).  
Row 46-51: work straight in hdc.
(here begins the front part)
Row 52-88: (in this row increase one hdc at each side ) at the beginning of this row Ch3,  2 hdc  in the same stitch (to increase one hdc).    work row in hdc. Within the last stitch, at the end of row:  2 hdc in the last stitch of row (to increase one hdc).
Make an edge in sc all around the piece
* Crochet four straps as follows:
Make 110 chains. Slip stitch in 2nd chain from hook. Slip stitch in each chain across. 
 


Join the straps to the piece.
 
For medium size start with  Ch 120, work first row in sc, second row in hdc, then begin decreasing one hdc at each side until row 49.  Work straight in hdc from row 50-56.  Then begins the front part,  increase one hdc at each side from row 57- 96. 
 
For large size start with  Ch 127, work first row in sc, second row in hdc, then begin decreasing one hdc at each side until row 55.  Work straight in hdc from row 56-62.  Then begins the front part,  increase one hdc at each side from row 63- 109. 

SARONG

 

 

Ch  229
Row 1:  work in sc
Row 2:  ch, sc in first stitch, * ch 7, skip 5 stitches, sc in next stitch (to form an arch).  Repeat from * until end of row, within the last 4 stitches, at end of row, crochet the last arch as follows:  ch4, dc in last stitch of previous row.

Row 3: * ch7, sc in center of next arch. Repeat from * until end of row.  within the last arch, at the end of row: ch4, dc in third ch of the next arch of previous row (this way you will decrease one arch in each row to form a triangle).

Row 4- X: Continue working rows the same as row 3 until you get just one arch at the end (to form a triangle).

 

 
* Make two rows in sc all around the piece.
* Crochet two straps (sides tie) as follows:
Make 130 chains. Slip stitch in 2nd chain from hook. Slip stitch in each chain across. 

Join the straps to the triangle
